Volunteer with the Equine Team at Montvale
Our programs would not be possible without the time, care, and energy our volunteers dedicate the children and families we serve. At The Barn, volunteers can be involved by serving as Lesson Volunteers and Schooling Volunteers. Other volunteer opportunities with the Minis on Wheels and additional programs may be available to experienced volunteers.

Lesson Volunteers:
- Require a minimum time commitment of 1 hour per week for 8 week session.
- Be able to walk on gravel for 45 minutes, with occasional jogging, while leading horse with rider mounted.
- Follow instructors directions and remain quiet unless prompted.
- Assist in grooming and tacking of horses as needed.
Schooling Volunteers:
- Be able to walk on gravel for 45 minutes, with occasional jogging, while leading horse with rider mounted.
- Volunteers may be asked to ride horses, following directions of instructor, during schooling sessions.
- Assist in grooming and tacking of horses as needed.
- Assist in lunging, groundwork training, and other schooling activities as needed.
